Description:

Dimension Technologies Pty Limited has developed approximately 10 hours of computer based training for BHP Steel, Sheet and Coil Products Division.

The CBT covers:

• basic steel making ie blast furnaces, basic oxygen furnace, continuous casting etc.
• operation of the hot strip mill ie reheating, slab descaling, reversing roughing mill, finishing mill etc; and
• product manufacturing in the Sheet and Coil Mill ie pickling, tempering, annealing, powder coating, hot-dipped coating and organic finished products.
• product quality and end use codes.

The objective of this course is to improve product knowledge and quality control. Users emerge with a greatly improved understanding of the total process, the causes of defects and how these effect the suitability of products for various end uses.

The course includes a full Competency Test which varies according to the current responsibility of the user.
